Christmas 2007

Posted by WELLA at Sunday, December 30, 2007 2 comments
This week was a very busy week for me, that's why its only now that I had a time to post some happenings last christmas. We spent our christmas eve at Tita Mira's place (Nikky's aunt) with his cousins and pamangkins and some friends. Earlier that day, we delivered gifts to our friends and cooked lasagna for the party. Attended the midnight mass and thats it.

Kiss my Ass!!!

We don't have any plans for New Year's eve because I need to work. Im welcoming 2008 at work and that's not cool! gggrrr!

Merry ang christmas

Posted by WELLA at Thursday, December 20, 2007 5 comments
My boss talked to me about my salary increase for next year. She gave me a 7% increase which according to her they don't give that high raise. But she justify my performance kaya approved sa management. She just noticed that my current salary was below minimum in state salary bracket. And my new wage will effect on January, ngyon nasa midpoint na ko ng salary bracket.

Next good news... Yesterday, my officemate asked me if I received any gifts from our president. I checked my mailbox and its empty. So today, my officemate told me even her didn't get any. Asked her what is it. She said its a christmas card with cash... $200! I didn't expect that much thinking I'm still new so baka mas mababa. Then, our incoming president approach me and gave me the "mahiwagang" card. Reminded me not to lose it. So I kept it inside my bag. I want open it pag-uwi ko. At dahil sa nangati ang kamay ko, I opened it... and yes there is the $200. Yahooooo!!!!

Yihee... its shopping time!!!

No Title

Posted by WELLA at Tuesday, December 18, 2007 3 comments
Its been a week with no updates here at halo-halong post 'to kaya no title for this.

So ano ang mga pangyayari this past few days:

Holiday: Til now di namen alam kung san kme magsspend ng christmas eve. Kung sa place ba ng aunt ng Nikky or dito na lang sa place namen. Nakakapanibago kase this is my first time to spend my birthday and christmas abroad. It looks like christmas here is just a simple day. Now I know why some people say na iba pa rin ang pasko sa Pinas. Happy pa rin naman ako kase Im with my dear hubby. Can't wait to open my gift from him... ano kaya yun? He was telling me na this is his first time na meron gifts under the tree.

Yung mommy ko kahet walang laman yung box, she will wrapped it with christmas wrapper and put it under the tree and use it every christmas. Recycled gifts.. hehehe.

Crib : Ay naku kung di lang malaking downpayment for a new place, we really wanna move out. The place was not the problem but the tenants. We're in ground floor so yung steps nung nasa taas namen totally irritating. Teenager yung occupant, so what do I expect. Another thing, I do my laundry every saturday, but sometimes I do it on sunday pag umaalis kme ng saturday. So anyway, I noticed them na they take out some clothes from the washer na di naman sa knila and put it on table. Those clothes were already done, but the thing is di sa knila yun, sympre for sure babalikan naman ng may-ari yung mga damit nya to put in a dryer. At first I dont mind kase di ko naman damit yun. Eto na.... nakasabay ko na naman sila. Im transferring our clothes from the washer to dryer. So ok they can use the washer I used. The laundry has 4 washers and 4 dryers. 2 dryers cost 75cents and 2 $1.00. I used the 2 dryers, both 75cents. After an hour I came back to get all our stuffs. As I entered the room, I saw our clothes already out of the dryer. Those white clothes was in a basket and the rest was on top of the table na meron din mga ibang damit na hindi smen. What the hell!!!! To think there are still 2 empty dryers na tig $1.00. Ano yun nagtitipid sila. Nagcomplain na yung asawa ko, kaya lang they can't do anything about it since di namen kilala or kung san unit. But I know for sure na same level lang kame kase sometimes nakakasalubong ko sila sa hall. Arrrggghhh... kakaasar yung mga taong walang consideration.

Work: Nadagdagan na naman yung trabaho namen during the nightly. Its really pain in the a$$! Why? isa-isahin ba naman yung mga scanned checks if they meet the requirements in signatures and endorsement. Worst, kase 5,000 checks yun and that's everyday task... so twice a week for me since 2 days ako naka-sched for the nightly. Ang sakit sa ulo grabe, and since its scanned image, so some checks are blurry. Kailangan ng superpower with x-ray vision. Badtrip talaga, so instead of 10:30pm ako matatapos, umaabot ako ng 12mn. Ang saya!

I changed my layout, updated my ipod na gusto ko rin lagyan ng skin... hehehe. Still looking for a cute design.

Sale... ughhhh

Posted by WELLA at Sunday, December 09, 2007 3 comments
Imagine, every week ganito kadami yung mga catalog from different stores.

And di lang basta isang item yung sale, sometimes bundle price pa... gggrrrr... Like yung nabili kong digicam yesterday, I saw on one of these catalogs, same price with free epson 3-in- 1 printer, copier and scanner. Naku every weekend lagi kmeng nasa lansangan. Tingin-tingin ng mapagtripan.

New click

Posted by WELLA at Saturday, December 08, 2007 1 comments
Yesterday, my husband and I dropped by in Bestbuy to check some whatever on sale. First stop, digicams section. I really want to buy a new camera but half-hearted to grab one. I don't know, I guess nanghihinayang ako since my cam is still in condition pa naman. I saw this Olympus digicam, very sleek and slim. Perfect for me. Take note, carry ng budget ko. Being practical, I went home empty handed. Convincing myself na I will buy it but not now. But this time, its different. I can't sleep last night, nakatulog pero super babaw thinking if I should buy it or not. I asked my husband's opinion. He said, tutal its christmas naman and its your birthday, this is what you really wanted, then go ahead. So knina after we had some good times with his co-workers, direcho kagad kme sa Bestbuy and bought my new toy. Great!

Great gift

Posted by WELLA at Friday, November 30, 2007 2 comments
For myself... hehehe... I bought this $250 value make-up set for just $48.50. But I have to purchase any Estee Lauder perfume and still a great deal. I bought Estee Lauder Pleasures. At first I wanna buy Beautiful, kase super love ko 'tong scent na 'to.. but for a change, ok din naman ang Pleasures.

Collecting make-ups and applying make-ups. Sarap mamili ngyon season.

Hemming Jeans 101

Posted by WELLA at Thursday, November 29, 2007 3 comments
Having a wide hips and not so gifted model legs, buying a pants was really a hard for me. That's why Im suki of Bench. Perfect fit talaga. Feeling Lucy Torres or Kris Aquino... hahaha. So ano dapat gawin? Ipa-alter. I asked somebody how much yung alterations dito, ay sus $5 per leg... so $10/pair.. alangan naman isang leg lang noh! Correct! Alam ko naman ang basic stitches.
Here's the step-by-step instruction (better if you have sewing machine)

Measure your jeans up to what length you want.

From your measurement divide it by 2. Then fold it again. Do not include the original hem.

Secure it with pins

Stitch it. I did a back stitch.

Cut the excess fabric

Turn it over and Tadahhhh!!!

Oha.... iba na ang practical... hehehe

Pirated Blog

Posted by WELLA at Saturday, November 24, 2007 3 comments
Before I blog about my subject, I didn't go with my husband kanina in a thanksgiving sale. Tinamad na ko eh... hehehe... and besides wala naman akong naisip na bilhin so, tinulog ko na lang.

Ok lets talk about my title. I found out that in a blogging world, eh meron palang namimirata. Oh yes, word for word. Even digiscrapping layout na hindi naman sya yun and for sure eh di nya kilala yung mga pictures na nandon, pati yun she's claiming it as her own work. Oh di ba, ang tindi. Here's Cheche's site, and read how she found out na meron ng mga copycat sa blogs. And some of her entries were from my other online buddies kaya not just one yung kinopy paste nya at may I post sa kanyang blog... ano ba yan may mailagay lang? Kala nya cguro ok lang yung ganon ah. Its ok to post some topics from other blogsite pero rephrase it naman. Or better yet, give credits to the original author.

By the way, this is the culprit.

Happy Thanksgiving

Posted by WELLA at Thursday, November 22, 2007 1 comments
Its a Thanksgiving today and no work... yipee! We just had a simple lunch with my in-laws here in our place. We don't have turkey since I don't know how to cook it.. hehehe. So I just made Parmesan Chicken on top of Linguini Marinara sauce. My mother-in-law made a cassava cake. And tomorrow, the big day! The huge sale all over town, I mean all over the country. This is the much awaited event for them. The stores open at 5 am, so better be there earlier, kung ayaw mong maubusan, coz some go nuts with all those goodies. I'll just make kwento tomorrow.. just hope magising ako ng maaga... Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Updates

I'll give you some updates with my driving lesson. Nikky let me drive from our place to my in- laws and vice versa.

That side lang muna.. hehehe..

Its winter time! wwwwiiiiiii!!!

Ready for Christmas

Posted by WELLA at Sunday, November 04, 2007 2 comments
Time to put up some christmas decors, thou its too early for some Americans here but for us, just right on time.

Our christmas tree was given by Nikky's aunt kaya wala kmeng karapatan magreklamo..hehehe. Pero ok lang naman smen since masyadong matrabaho ang huge size tree and magastos sa mga decors. Our motiff for this year is red and gold. Kahet against si Nikky wala naman sya magagawa, he wants kase blue and silver pero decided na ko na red and gold, next year na lang sya. And because feel ko na nga ang christmas pati layout ng blog ko e on season din with matching background songs pa.

Before

Working on it

After

Di pa yan masyadong tapos kase kinapos ako sa lights... hehehe... kala ko ok na yung 100 lights, di pala so balik ulit bukas to buy another one and some more decors.

Bad day!

Posted by WELLA at Thursday, November 01, 2007 0 comments
Its not a good today, which I thought it was. I got a voice message from my boss this morning and told me that something went wrong with the nightly task last night. I told her what happened with the system last night, that the computer was locked and I had no choice but to restart it. That's the cause of a big trouble today. Our system admin needs to start all over again and it will take 3-4 hours to complete the whole processing. But the thing is, we can't use the same system until its already been completed. Of course, everybody was affected with this problem and unfortunately, I'm the culprit. I was so upset. My boss ask me if Im ok and told her the truth that I'm not. As if the world was telling me that I should be the one to blame. That I gave them a hard time with their work and so on. Good enough that my boss lift up my spirit and told me that it was not my intention at all. Everything happens, there's no one to blame, we're all human and we should learn from our mistakes. Atleast, I did my very best and she appreciates that I have a concern with my work which she likes about me. She said that it was just a minor problem. She also protected me from our officemates asking what happened and told them that it was just a system failure. But the fact that I know its not my fault and restore everything, I can't help not to think that I screwed up the entire operation. Anyway, the damage has been done. And my boss assures me that it will not affect my record. So, life goes on!

Happy Halloween

Posted by WELLA at Wednesday, October 31, 2007 1 comments
Im celebrating halloween here at work. First time kung magtrabaho today. Ang masaklap eh Im scheduled to do the nightly task. And because nasa ibang lupalop na ko ng earth, maiiba na rin how I celebrate All Saint's and Soul's day.

When I was a kid, I remember before Nov. 1, pupunta na kme sa bahay ng tita ko sa Taguig. Oh yes! patok na patok smen 'to.

Ok, the next day, parang may picnic. Big umbrella, tupperwares, junk foods, blanket, candles and flowers. Ang destination? Public cemetery.

Just 3(?) years ago, my lola passed away kaya di na kme don sa public cemetery nagpupunta. Kaya oct. 31 pa lang nandon na kme and overnight stay kme don. Ok din yung park na yun kase meron silang halloween party for kids, pwede pa magpa-face paint.

So cguro by next year, eh pwede na ko maki-trick or treat dito. Feel ko kaya bumili ng costume... I can be devilish girl.. para wala ng ka-effort effort. Bwahahaha (mala Celia Rodriguez laugh)

My Wishlist

Posted by WELLA at Saturday, October 27, 2007 0 comments
Hmmm... I can feel now the cooooolllllll breeze... yuhooo... Christmas just around the corner, my favorite season of the year! So sympre since its my favorite dapat masaya ako. At para maging masaya dapat meron akong something the best for myself. Ano un? Ay naku still undecided. Out na sa list ko ang laptop kase meron na ko courtesy of my husband. So bawal na ang humingi sa knya ng presence (next year na lang ulit... hehehe). So ano nga ba ang naiisip kong gift for moi.
Either curve or 8800 series. When Im searching the net, I found this Nokia Smartphone N95, and goodluck naman sken kase it cost $649 something. Nice din yung Prada LG fone. Ay naman!!!!
So I'm thinking to buy a new Coach bag, cheaper than the above 2.

Sympre di pa nagtatapos 'to... sa mga susunod ng mga araw eh for sure may additional na naman sa list ko.

My 1st all staff meeting

Posted by WELLA at Tuesday, October 23, 2007 1 comments
I just attended our Fall all staff meeting. In my 5 years of working, its my 1st time to attend a meeting with the executives. Unlike in Pinas kase, usually in strategic planning, mostly its for the marketing people, kaya di ako nakakaattend pero sympre may background naman ako kase asssistant ako ng EVP and Head of the Branch Banking Group. But this time, its for everybody. I guessed konti lang kase kme compared to my previous employer.

I had a great time and buti na lang nag-ayos ako... hehehe... kase I wasn't expecting na they will introduce the new employee.

Oh by the way, finally I tried eating strawberry. Ewan ko bat ko naisipan kainin. Verdict? Ok lang parang kiwi. Hehehe...

Aside from target goals for the next year, they discussed also the security. There was a robbery incident 3 years ago in one of our branches. The robber handed a note to the teller and introduce himself. When the teller read the note, she passed it to the another teller. Anyway to make the story short, they were robbed a $1,000. Then the robber went to the convenient store just across the street and bought a lottery ticket and some beers. I think while scratching a lotto ticket, he was caught by a police... hehehe.. Mautak gusto palaguin ang pera...

Terrorist or Not?

Posted by WELLA at Saturday, October 20, 2007 2 comments
I heard a news from the Philippines that Glorietta 2 in Makati was exploded at around 1pm last Friday. The explosion was in the storage room of Luk Yuen restaurant. Actually, they aren't sure if it was a bomb or an LPG tank. As I watched it in youtube, super lakas tlga kase up to the next building which is Park Square e nabasag yung mga glass. Grabe nakakatakot talaga, since holiday season is now fast approaching, dito naglalabasan yung mga walang konsensyang mga nilalang.

Samut-sari

Posted by WELLA at Sunday, October 14, 2007 4 comments
I can't think of a title for this post kaya samut-sari na lang, tutal halo-halo naman ang ipopost ko.

Ay naku, its been a week na rin di ako nagpost.

What keeps me busy? Watching Meteor Garden Season 1. Yes. I ordered it from ebay, so marathon ang drama ko ngyon. Sympre namiss ko si Jerry Yan. Hehehe. Until now e im still practicing my driving. I enrolled a driving lesson in Pinas, got a license pero that was before I left. Madalian in short. I know madali lang since automatic naman ang car dito, pero sympre I still need to practice especially reverse parking and hopefully before winter, I can get my state license.

Speaking of winter, I got an email from my aunt in California. She was asking me if we can go to New Jersey again and celebrate the holidays with them and the rest of my relatives. Too bad, one of my officemate was on scheduled vacation on holidays so I can't make it. Even my husband. I was kinda sad coz its been a long time since I haven't seen my aunt. I think the last time we see each other was year 1993. Lalo na dito sa states, wala naman silang long vacation, unlike in Pinas, almost 1 week walang pasok during christmas season. Thats what I missed there. Imagine first time akong papasok on my birthday (dec. 24). Eh in Pinas, on that day all of us were so busy preparing food for Noche Buena. So di naman ako nagpapakasenti noh!

Saturday Night

Our friend invited us to watch with them the match of Pacquiao and Barrera in pay-per-view at their place last night. We really had a great time. But aside from that I won 45 bucks in our bet. Its a draw lots from numbers 0 to 12. That numbers are the round numbers. I got O, meaning an anonymous decision. So I got the money.... hehehe.

That afternoon, we watched "The Kingdom". The movie was good. Nakakatakot nga lang kase yung mga scenes, talagang nangyayari in reality.

Yun lang...

Desperate Housewives controversy

Posted by WELLA at Thursday, October 04, 2007 0 comments
Ok, the words spreads so fast na almost every blog I visits eh meron silang post about this. Papahuli ba ko.... never!!!!

If racist and capabilities of a Filipino doctor pointing out on that TV show, insulting nga naman yun. Parang sinabi na rin nila na low standard of education in med ang Pinas. We've known for a fact that most Filipinos working abroad are in medical field.

In a show, Hatcher was asking to see the diplomas. I guess she just want to make sure that diplomas was not from Recto University. In Recto University, lahat registrar.... hehehe. Kwento ko lang, when I was preparing for my wedding, napadaan ako sa Recto to look for someone who can make an envelopes for my invites.

Until now, the executives of the show hasn't explain their sides.

How true is it that body builders have small penis?

And my answer:

I can't justify this thing because I didn't involve to a body builder. Hehehe... Well, I think because their big muscles occupies the area. Or baka naman well trim ang winner kase nagbabarbel din kaya mukhang small. Nyahaha.

Now its your turn, I will tag you question and post your answer on your site. Tell me your answer and tag a different question to other people including me.

By the way, Im doing this nightly task by myself, good thing my officemate was still here and help me to resolve this things. Then my supervisor came over to help too. From 7pm til 2am still wondering where to look for that error. And finally, it turns out that we need to exclude this item.... grrr!!! It was just a minor thing that created a big trouble. Can you just imagine the time wasted that by now I'm with my husband, eat my dinner and lying on our bed. I'm already have of my work so hopefully in God's mercy, I'll finish this on time or earlier. Expected time? 5:00am.

The Face Behind this Blog

Posted by WELLA at Thursday, September 20, 2007 2 comments

Tagged by Irel

The face behind this blog... hanep sa picture, all smile! hehehe. Ok let's talk all about me.

My nickname is Wella, but my ate's calls me Weng, my friends naman sometimes calls me Wells, Wewe, Wellapot and my only tita calls me Lowel. To be honest, I don't like my name pero I don't hate it either. Wala lang feeling ko lang. If I'm given the chance to change my name, I want Trixie, bitch na bitch ang dating... hehehe. Sabi ng mom ko, di naman daw Lowela dapat ang name ko, it should be Leilani or Liezel. E si lola ko (mom of my dad), naging kontrabida sa mga panahon na yun at may I suggested na "Lowela". Unconscious pa siguro ang mom ko non at di nasabi yung correct spelling for my name kaya si nurse nagmarunong at yun ang ginawa sa birth certificate ko.. well pronounced di ba. Ni let go na lang ng mom ko para di na magulo.

Among the 5 kids, ako lang daw ang naka-experience ng may yaya. My mom was so busy that time sa aming family business (small restaurant). Pero nung 2 years old na ko, di na ko nagyaya coz we transferred to another place and gave up the resto.

Speaking of takot, I must say na masyado akong matatakutin.

I love sour and salty foods. I don't have a sweet tooth, mana ako sa mommy ko. I don't eat chocolates with nuts and peanut butter. Siguro yung with nuts, toblerone lang. When it comes to cake, red ribbon products lang. Kase not too sweet yung cakes nila... and from casa bravo ba yun... basta yun na yun. I'm not an experimental person na lahat ittry na kainin, basta kung sa paningin ko eh di na masarap, I won't dare to eat it.

In music naman, I had no particular genre. Anything goes, old or new music, ok lang. Siguro depende na rin sa trip ko, but usually I listened to RnB, Trance or House party music. Just to lighten up my mood. I remembered my friend asked me what will be my funeral song, I said I want "Passenger Seat by Stephen Speaks". Why? I don't know, I just like the song.

I want everything in organize, but Im not OC, siguro metikolosa lang. These abubots are my collections. When I was in my grade school years, I collect stationeries with or without scents na super exchange pa with my friends na ginawa ko na rin business. Tapos lagi akong nagtitira ng isang piraso for me. Then I started collecting watches, sympre may sponsor ako ng watch ko.. my kuya..hehehe. I had benetton, swatch, pop swatch, esprit, bubble watch ng sesame street, boy london, pati smiley watches. Different colors and style. But now, 3 watches na lang ginagamit ko. Nung nagstart na ko magwork, sympre can afford na ko, shoes and bags naman.

Im not an ambitious person, actually nung bata ako di ko nga alam kung ano ambition ko eh. I just want to be successful in whatever Im in and in the future.

So thats it!

Fall Season

A few days from now, fall season starts. As of this time its already 48 degrees samahan pa ba ng strong wind.... nginigggggggg....

I don't hate cold temp nor like it, basta di humid ok na sken, kya lang minsan nakakainis pag malamig. Baket?

But of course, Im excited for the winter. Sympre first time in my entire life ako makaka-experience ng snow... wwwwwiiiiiiiiiii! At wag kalimutan ang outfit, the boots and the trench coat, di bale kahit di leather kase sobrang mahal. So this weekend agenda.. shopping!!!!!

Ang Lupit Ni Inday

Posted by WELLA at Sunday, September 09, 2007 2 comments
“I stay awake in the coldness of the darkened sky contemplating why, for some reasons, has my emptiness made itself manifests, extending to that niche where I was given life and growth, that because of austerity I was made separated from…”

- Inday… hindi makatulog dahil nahohomesick

“I am solitary. I find it hard to succumb into slumber, though the downpour of rain should’ve made it easy. This exuberant emotional glue I have for you, cannot be simply washed away. The multiplicity of what I feel for you is inevitable. This isn’t platonic. It’s real, true romance.”

“The statute restricts me to love you but you have the provocation. The way you smile is the proximate cause why I love you. We have some rules to think of. We have no vested rights to love each other because the upper household dismissed my petition!”

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Amo: Inday bumili ka nga ng mga isda.. o nga pla inglesira ka… would you please purchase many fishes for our this week’s meals?

Inday: Judging from your statement I believe you meant a variety of fish. The term “fishes”, although rarely and even erroneously used, connotes a plethora or an array of different kinds of the aforementioned gilled creatures. But the more pressing questions before I traveresed the road to the wet market would be: What certain type of fish? Fillet or not? Frozen or just right smack the day’s catch? (Pauses) Aaah… by manner of careful extrapolation, given the meager budget in this houshold’s quasi-peasant middle class taste, I assume then I will source the staple “galewng-gowng”. Am I correct?

Amo: grrrrr!

Inday: You meant the freshwater milkfish? Then the “ba-ngooz” is it! - - - -

@@@@@@@@@

“La vida no es una broma actualmente. El dinero es tan duro de pasar. Puede usted bajar el precio parci mi? Soy ya su compradora avido diario por favor?

- si Inday tumatawad sa merkado ng isinama siya ng amo sa España

*Drunken shrimp and blue lobster meat with caviar serve with milagrosa rice (red avriety) and apricot sauce
*Vegetables in balsamic vinegar splashed with extra virgin olive olive
*Lychee and peach salad with sour cream cheese topped with lemon zests

“Ipomea aquatica has become the constant ingredient to this Filipino delicacy which is very helpful in the digestion during the peristaltic process of the food we intake. Due to the continuous rains and floods, the harvest of the said vegetable has lessen the production in the market.”

“Heavy fire that exerted by the stimulus affect the best conductor of heat which is the steel, causing the “oriza sativa” which is the scientific name of rice to change its state of color, smell as well as the taste.”

“Off you go! Under no circumstance this house would relent to such unabashed display of vagrant destitution!”

“Allergens triggered the immune response. Eosinophilic migration occurs to the reaction site and release of chemotactic and anaphylotoxin including histamine and prostaglandins. These substance results to increase circulation to the site promoting redness.”

Amo: Day! Bakit may bukol si Junior?!
Inday: Compromising safety with useless aesthetics, the not-so-well engineered architectural design of our kitchen lavatory affected the boy’s cranium with a slight boil at the left temple near the auditory organ.
Amo: (Di nakareact)

@@@@@@@@

“Dear Mom, Had it not been for the smelling salt, I must have collapsed moment ago. Junior has become a little monster to me. Remember the head accident he had? As if it wasn’t enough, he was summoned by the principal of his shabily run academe. Oh such an erudite bunch of baboons! I never lot being a governess can be such a strenuous employ.
Your daughter,
Inday”

“Dear Inday, Salbahe ka! Magpadala ka ng pera! Nasa ospital nanay mo, dumugo ang ilong kababasa ng pesteng sulat mo! Tatay”

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Mister: Bakit tuwing pag-uwi ko, nadadatnan kitang nanunuod ng TV??!!!
Inday: Because I don’t want you to see me doing absolutely nothing!

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Amo: Inday di ba nanood ka ng The Buzz kahapon? Bkit daw umalis si Angel Locsin sa GMA7? Inday: Sometimes people choose to leave not because of selfish reasons but because they just know that things will get worse if they’ll stay. Leaving can be a tough act and it’s harder when people can’t understand you for doing so.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@
“Physical stress and excessive work may result to serious damage to one’s body. It is therefore essential that once in a while we take a break from our usual routine to replenish the lost energy we once had.”

Misis: Inday, bakit mo binenta yung sirang silya?
Inday: I have computed the chair's fair value less cost to sell, and the value in use using projections for 5 years and a pre-tax discount rate. Accordingly, the value in use is lower, so I decided to sell the chair. This in accordance with PAS18 on Revenue, PAS16 on Property, Plant, and Equipment, and PAS36 on Impairment of Assets!
Misis: ADIK ka talaga Inday!

***
“Don’t ride on my popularity! I am not your long lost sister.”
***
“Please do not ask me to choose between the both of you. It’s not easy to thresh out feelings when there are matters still to be discussed. The heart is slow to learn.”
***
“If the two eventually fell in love, despite the disparity of their ages and academic levels, this only lends substance to the truism that the heart has reasons for its own which reason does not know.”

Hair Makeover

Posted by WELLA at Saturday, September 08, 2007 2 comments
I've finally decided to have a hair cut, but not too short, a shoulder length will do. Bad trip tlga ang split ends, I thought wala na, pero with the cold temperature, nagddry talaga ang hair ko. And Im also sick and tired of those falling hair, e long hair pa naman ako kaya mahirap i-manage.

I tried to search for a virtual makeover. You can upload your own photo and tried their different but limited hair styles. Here are some of my experimental look.

Marimar... Awwww!!!

Posted by WELLA at Friday, September 07, 2007 0 comments
Marimar was originally a Mexican telenovela and i think it was 1st foreign telenovela shown in the Philippines. At first, di ko type panoorin, but I guess kung may mga tao sa bahay nyo na fanatic sa ganito, e mahahawa ka talaga, lalo na mommy ko. So eventually, ayun nakikinood na rin ako. At naging fanatic na ko ng mga telenovela, from Taiwan sympre ang Meteor Garden yun, and Koreans.

And now, Marimar has a remake in Philippine version. Thanks to youtube. Well, khet papano e updated ako, and no commercial break, maliit nga lang ung screen pero napagtytyagaan naman. Marian Rivera, who played the title role, I must say she was very effective in portraying it. Dingdong Dantes as Sergio, hhhmmm... ok na rin. At si Fulguso, aba di sya askal, isang golden retriever.. sosyal and voice by Michael V. kaya may comedy. Si Corazon played by Manilyn Reynes, hmmm.. di ko type, sana si Michael V. na lang like yung tulad sa bubble gang before. But so far, ok naman.. naadik nga ako kagabi eh, parang ayaw ko ng matulog.

Good news!

First, I already received my laptop just yesterday.. alright!!!! Now ko lang nagamit, kc ung asawa ko e may I configured ng kung ano-ano.

Almost 2 months ko rin hinintay 'to. Madami nga actually nagreklamo sa Dell. Ang reason nila shortage of parts daw. Kaya masaya! nyahaha!

Second, kinausap ako knina ng boss ko. She asked me how am I doing with the job, if i like it etc. She appreciated the efforts, and doing my job well done. She didn't regret of hiring me.... and I did my work beyond her expection. Wow!!! It feels good, that somehow they recognized my hardwork. Actually, they're (co-workers) generous of saying "very good", "job well done", and sympre with that kind of appreciation, mas lalo kang gaganahan magtrabaho and no heavy heart pagpapasok, kse mahirap magtrabaho if ur no longer happy sa work mo.

What I miss in Pinas?

Posted by WELLA at Monday, September 03, 2007 3 comments
One of my co-workers asked me out of nowhere, what food do I miss in the Philippines. Hmmm... I stopped and think, thinking of nothing. I guessed its not the food but the things I do back home. When Im bored, either going to friend's house or at the mall just to hang around. Taking a jeep or tricycle, na super dooper haba ng pila. Traffic, khet nakakainis.. its the only time na makapagmuni-muni. And of course, my family. Namimiss ko kaya ung mga bangayan namen.. hehehe... wala kse akong kasigawan dito eh.

Speaking of family, eto at namili na kme na ipapadala. Drained na ang bulsa ko.. wwwwaaaa!!!! Ayan, magsawa sila sa Pringles at chocolates... hehehe

what matters

Posted by WELLA at Thursday, August 30, 2007 0 comments
A friend of mine, forwarded this article.

What Matters
CTALK By Cito Beltran
The Philippine Star 02/09/2007

Having opted to live a less stressful lifestyle away from the limelight or
the Rat Race, it's but normal for people who made the choice, to sometimes
wonder if they did the right thing.

They experience pangs of guilt about being under employed, less productive
and certainly reduced in their income potential. While everyone else is
BUSY making a LIVING, you ask yourself if it's a mature thing to be at home
or semi-retired at the farm.

Are you wasting all your God-given talents raising kids, growing your own
food, or simply living on very little money and simple needs? Shouldn't you
be involved in today's politics, today's technology? And are your friends
right about saying "Sayang Ka"?

Last month, a friend called me about an opening in a major corporation that
was paying P300,000 a month, all the perks, and even a brand new Volvo. My
friend asked me how I would react if the job was offered to me since I was
very qualified.

It took me all of 5 seconds to tell her I wouldn't accept it.

To begin with P100,000 would certainly end up with the government as taxes.
That would leave me with only P200,000.

To earn that, I would have to be at work by eight everyday, instead of
coming up with imaginative tricks to wake up my daughter like placing her
puppy in her bed, or simply standing over her watching this angelic child
in her field of dreams.

I would have to eat breakfast by six, leave the house by 6:30. That means
no more breakfast conversations with my wife and certainly an end to our
morning prayers not just for us but for family and friends.

From the P200,000, I would have to spend at least P20,000 a month or 10% of
net to pay for gasoline driving the brand new Volvo to office everyday.

So in effect, I would only be earning P180,000 or even less. Not to mention
that my friends who sell Mercedes Benzes, Jaguars, etc. would brand me as a
traitor.

From the net salary of +/- P180,000, I would have to give up the lunch I
have with my wife 3 to 4 times a week at home.

Instead my power of choice adds another burden where I would have to decide
daily where in the business district I ought to have lunch, merienda if
needed, and from time to time even dinner. I would have to choose from a
menu instead of whipping up something in my kitchen.

When you add up the bill, plus service charge, plus VAT you can easily
average another P20,000 in expenses. Which means, that what we originally
thought would be a net income of P200,000 has now gone down to P160,000.

In the absence of maintenance you can enter about P10,000 as your average
monthly repair bill for labor and materials. So now, you discover you're
only earning P150,000 a month.

Instead of being in a HOME I own, I will have to try to be "at home" in an
office where I will be spending more of my "awake time". This finally
solves the puzzle; why do we always fill our offices with personal stuff
which we will have to take home in a box when we retire, resign or get
fired?

From having my independence and personal views, I would then have a real
live flesh and bones Boss (because of what I thought was P200,000 a month
salary) can tell me how to jump! Someone who's seniority or proprietary
rights automatically makes him right even if he's stupid.

Because you now have to spend most of the time at the office or behind a
desk, you can't do your regular walk in the park or jog around the village
which is also your bonding time with your spouse, your kids, or your dogs.
You either join a gym or get a personal trainer.

When you total fees, travel, and outfits, your monthly fitness bill would
be around P5,000 which means your net pay just went down to P145,000 a
month or less than half the original offered salary.

My dear wife reminds me to include clothing and image-related expenditures
specially for women. The clothes, the make-up, the jewelry, as well as the
business accessories such as the laptop loaded with Vistas program, the
latest cell phones, iPod etc.

Even if you paid all of that on installment for 24 months, it would be in
the area of P20,000 a month which further reduces your income to P125,000 a
month.

The problem with this major part of the expense is many people mistakenly
call them necessary investments, professional expense, but don't see them
as deductions from PERSONAL wealth.

It would also mean, not sharing the responsibility of taking our child to
school, missing out on small talk that tell you big things in children's
minds, and dropping out on all the parent-child activities.

I would also nullify all the adjustments we made in the last 5 years where
we integrated home life with work in order to be more of a family than
employees with a family.

Speaking of home life, anyone who spends a lot of time at work can testify
that in your absence you will have to hire a full crew to do all the
maintenance and repair you use to prevent or do yourself when you spend
time at home.

In your absence, who's going to fix leaking roofs, flooded toilets, busted
aircons, creaking doors, or all the usual things REAL MEN with real tools
do?

If I actually went out to get the job that pays P300,000 plus a brand new
Volvo, it would have cost me breakfasts with my wife, trips to school with
my daughter, morning talks and prayers with God, affirmation of my role as
husband, father. I would be relinquishing responsibility for my house, as
well as my home.

What we've done is determine what really matters, what and how much we
really need, give up what we don't need or care for and trust in God and
not in men.

This is what I call real life cost-benefit analysis. To make an accounting
of what we think we're getting against what we know we're losing. Sometimes
earning more actually costs more.

This guy is inlove with you pare...

Posted by WELLA at Monday, August 27, 2007 1 comments
Today, very much accepted na ung homosexual relationship. Pero may times na nakaka-shock pa rin when we see them holding hands, cuddling each other etc.

After I watched this video, I admired the macho guy for unveiling his relationship with badingersi in national TV pa ha.

The Lady "B" updated

Posted by WELLA at Thursday, August 23, 2007 2 comments
Whew.. its not yet over with this Malu(wag)Fernandez controversy. Because of the power of the internet, everybody read her article. And for her so called "freedom of expression", everybody was totally outrage. The website, where I found this, got 1000+ comments. Grabe! Its so funny reading those brutal opinions.

I just found out na pinalabas sa news (TV Patrol) etong controversial na babaeng 'to. The network wants her side but she declined to be interview, instead she wrote a public apology and resigned in Manila Standard and People Asia. Hmmm... she resigned or she was fired???

A day of thunderstorm

Posted by WELLA at Tuesday, August 21, 2007 0 comments
Its a 24 hours of thunderstorm last saturday. Our apartment got flooded. Well lucky for us because the wet area was just near the aircon, but the rest of the unit from ground floor was totally wet. They had to move their things because the whole carpet needs to pull out and replace a new one.

This pictures c/o Sherwin.. thanks man!

Free carpets!!!

Xtra: Finally I passed the exam in driving. Sus ok na naman pla not to get an instruction permit since I have a valid driver's license in Pinas. They will still acknowledge a valid international license for 1 year. So pwede na ko magdrive on my own. Pero i still need a road test to acquire a Minnesota driver's license.

New layout...

Posted by WELLA at Saturday, August 18, 2007 0 comments
I'm in the mood to change my blog layout, but when I searched to look for some inspiration/theme, I can't find any. :) I forgot where i found this template... baka sakaling merong bago. Since I couldn't find any, tinamad na ko. Umalis na lang kme ng hubby ko, ate our lunch in a buffet resto and watched the Rush Hour 3.

Mas lalo pang nakakatamad kase may thunderstorm dito. I don't know if it will last 'til next week.

X's: Thanks to Irel for the code.. atleast khet papano may nagawa ako sa blog ko.. ;)

The Lady "B" - part 2

Posted by WELLA at Thursday, August 16, 2007 4 comments
I thought Im over with this issue... when I posted this in my multiply account, my friends can't control their reactions. here are some :

"what she wrote was appalling...akala mo naman kung sinong sobrang yaman at ganda! hmp!

the things about the mosquitoes and OFWs may be true BUT STILL, she shouldn't have written those things, given na nga eh, bakit kailangan pang i-emphasize? as if naman napakasamang bagay na ang magkaroon ng mosquitoes or maging maingay sa eroplano ng mga kapwa pilipino. as in, masama ba yun???? dapat sa ganyang mga klase ng tao hindi na pinababalik ng pilipinas eh. " - IVY

"I dont think theres nothing wrong with that blog or what not..We have to remember she wrote what she feels and thats it..We must not forget that we are all guilty of discriminating every now and then..
example: "Oh man I went to the party last night and everybody seems like to shop at WalMart."
theres nothing wrong with shopping at WalMart but for just telling a story it made it look bad.
bottom line is We dont have to agree to Miss Piggie over there on what she tells on her story.She forgot to mention that her broke ass vacation story is LAME! hehehe" - SHERWIN

- YEN

"I think she's very arrogant and "stuck up". She's just trying to big note herself. It is OK to tell about your holiday experiences but you should not criticise or judge others so quickly in the process. I have been on flights with plenty of OFWs and here in Brunei there are daming Filipinos. To me, the OFWs are heroes. (I am biased, my wife is from Narra and soon we'll celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.) Cheers" - JIM

"hahaha ... yun lang kaya niya gawin... kaya ayaw niya ng beach kasi mataba siya... too fat to wear skinny bathing suits. Ano ba ginawa niya sa Greece? Sight-seeing lang naman ginawa niya dun. Based on the photos balot na balot siya. People like her is what I call "mga biglang yaman". Real rich people are so humble and down to earth. Walang kwenta ang LV at Jo Malone niya kung ang ugali niya eh kasing baho ng ebs ng baboy. ewwwwwwww!" - ANN

"who's this Big girl pretending to be someone na sya lang ang may pera sa earth... dapat ipadala yan sa Basilan kasi ikinahihiya nya ang mga kapwa nya.... hmph!" - LETLET

- MAE

The Lady "B"

Posted by WELLA at Tuesday, August 14, 2007 4 comments
I read this from my multiply buddy. Anyway, nung nabasa ko na ung reason behind that anger, aba na high-blood ako... walang reason para di magwalang imik... para makarelate kyo.. here's the article (click the image for larger view)

Now, sino ang di maiinis sa kanya??? I know na there are times nakakainis ung ibang Pinoy. Pero sa kwento nya, I don't see anything wrong na magkamustahan or kung ano ung pabango na gamit ng mga OFW. Pakialam ba nya...

And between the 2 places, mas nag-enjoy sya sa Greece.

Now what's with the "B"... hhhhmmm Baboy, Balyena, Bitch, Beast ... hehehe...

~~~~~oOo~~~~~~
By the way, I applied for an instruction permit for driving this morning.. too bad I failed. So try ulit ako next week or by Thursday to get another one. Its free naman eh.. kaya ok lang... hehehe.
Christmas 2007
This week was a very busy week for me, that's why its only now that I had a time to post some happenings last christmas. We spent our christmas eve at Tita Mira's place (Nikky's aunt) with his cousins and pamangkins and some friends. Earlier that day, we delivered gifts to our friends and cooked lasagna for the party. Attended the midnight mass and thats it.
Kiss my Ass!!!
We don't have any plans for New Year's eve because I need to work. Im welcoming 2008 at work and that's not cool! gggrrr!
Merry ang christmas
My boss talked to me about my salary increase for next year. She gave me a 7% increase which according to her they don't give that high raise. But she justify my performance kaya approved sa management. She just noticed that my current salary was below minimum in state salary bracket. And my new wage will effect on January, ngyon nasa midpoint na ko ng salary bracket.
Next good news... Yesterday, my officemate asked me if I received any gifts from our president. I checked my mailbox and its empty. So today, my officemate told me even her didn't get any. Asked her what is it. She said its a christmas card with cash... $200! I didn't expect that much thinking I'm still new so baka mas mababa. Then, our incoming president approach me and gave me the "mahiwagang" card. Reminded me not to lose it. So I kept it inside my bag. I want open it pag-uwi ko. At dahil sa nangati ang kamay ko, I opened it... and yes there is the $200. Yahooooo!!!! Sama ko nga di ko man lang binasa yung message... hahaha... pero sympre binasa ko naman after. Inggit asawa ko kase sa knya $15 lang.. hehehe.
Yihee... its shopping time!!!
No Title
Its been a week with no updates here at halo-halong post 'to kaya no title for this.
So ano ang mga pangyayari this past few days:
Holiday: Til now di namen alam kung san kme magsspend ng christmas eve. Kung sa place ba ng aunt ng Nikky or dito na lang sa place namen. Nakakapanibago kase this is my first time to spend my birthday and christmas abroad. It looks like christmas here is just a simple day. Now I know why some people say na iba pa rin ang pasko sa Pinas. Happy pa rin naman ako kase Im with my dear hubby. Can't wait to open my gift from him... ano kaya yun? He was telling me na this is his first time na meron gifts under the tree.
Di kase ako sanay na walang gifts yung christmas tree. Yung mommy ko kahet walang laman yung box, she will wrapped it with christmas wrapper and put it under the tree and use it every christmas. Recycled gifts.. hehehe. Pati christmas wrapper ko color coordinated sa christmas ornaments ko.... hehehe. Yan isang roll lang ng wrapper na yan.
Crib : Ay naku kung di lang malaking downpayment for a new place, we really wanna move out. The place was not the problem but the tenants. We're in ground floor so yung steps nung nasa taas namen totally irritating. Teenager yung occupant, so what do I expect. Another thing, I do my laundry every saturday, but sometimes I do it on sunday pag umaalis kme ng saturday. Pag sunday, nakakasabay ko yung mag-asawa, cguro mga around 40-50's age nila. So anyway, I noticed them na they take out some clothes from the washer na di naman sa knila and put it on table. Those clothes were already done, but the thing is di sa knila yun, sympre for sure babalikan naman ng may-ari yung mga damit nya to put in a dryer. At first I dont mind kase di ko naman damit yun. Eto na.... nakasabay ko na naman sila. Im transferring our clothes from the washer to dryer. So ok they can use the washer I used. The laundry has 4 washers and 4 dryers. 2 dryers cost 75cents and 2 $1.00. I used the 2 dryers, both 75cents. After an hour I came back to get all our stuffs. As I entered the room, I saw our clothes already out of the dryer. Those white clothes was in a basket and the rest was on top of the table na meron din mga ibang damit na hindi smen. At nandon yung mag-asawa, putting there clothes don sa dryer na pinaggamitan ko. What the hell!!!! To think there are still 2 empty dryers na tig $1.00. Ano yun nagtitipid sila. Sa inis ko, pinaglalagay ko sa lalagyanan ko ung mga damit namen without folding it. Sabi ko sa asawa ko, bahala na kung di mo damit yang nadampot ko. Imagine, ihahalo nila yung mga damit namen sa ibang damit.. malay ko ba kung malinis yun or what. Walang pakielam tlga... matapos lang sila. Eh ako naman lagi kong binabalikan yung mga damit namen. Nagcomplain na yung asawa ko, kaya lang they can't do anything about it since di namen kilala or kung san unit. But I know for sure na same level lang kame kase sometimes nakakasalubong ko sila sa hall. Arrrggghhh... kakaasar yung mga taong walang consideration.
Work: Nadagdagan na naman yung trabaho namen during the nightly. Its really pain in the a$$! Why? isa-isahin ba naman yung mga scanned checks if they meet the requirements in signatures and endorsement. Worst, kase 5,000 checks yun and that's everyday task... so twice a week for me since 2 days ako naka-sched for the nightly. Ang sakit sa ulo grabe, and since its scanned image, so some checks are blurry. Kailangan ng superpower with x-ray vision. Badtrip talaga, so instead of 10:30pm ako matatapos, umaabot ako ng 12mn. Ang saya!
I changed my layout, updated my ipod na gusto ko rin lagyan ng skin... hehehe. Still looking for a cute design.
Sale... ughhhh
Ay naku sale is everywhere.... nakakainis kase yung pambili lang ang problema eh... Imagine, every week ganito kadami yung mga catalog from different stores.
And di lang basta isang item yung sale, sometimes bundle price pa... gggrrrr... Like yung nabili kong digicam yesterday, I saw on one of these catalogs, same price with free epson 3-in- 1 printer, copier and scanner. Pwede ko na ipadala yun sa pinas eh. Sabi ko nga kay Nikky, pwede namen ibalik yung camera, kaya lang may 15% pang restocking fee, so wag na lang. Naku every weekend lagi kmeng nasa lansangan. Tingin-tingin ng mapagtripan.
New click
Yesterday, my husband and I dropped by in Bestbuy to check some whatever on sale. First stop, digicams section. I really want to buy a new camera but half-hearted to grab one. I don't know, I guess nanghihinayang ako since my cam is still in condition pa naman. I saw this Olympus digicam, very sleek and slim. Perfect for me. Take note, carry ng budget ko. Being practical, I went home empty handed. Convincing myself na I will buy it but not now. But this time, its different. I can't sleep last night, nakatulog pero super babaw thinking if I should buy it or not. I asked my husband's opinion. He said, tutal its christmas naman and its your birthday, this is what you really wanted, then go ahead. Yun lang naman ang hintay ko eh, ang may sumuporta sa gusto ko... hehehe. So knina after we had some good times with his co-workers, direcho kagad kme sa Bestbuy and bought my new toy. Actually, may kasabay ako na yun din ang binili nila. Great!
Snowy Thursday
Im dreaming of a white christmas.... and now my dreams came true. Snow is everywhere. Actually, I was downloading some tagalog christmas song and looked at our window.
Great gift
For myself... hehehe... I bought this $250 value make-up set for just $48.50. But I have to purchase any Estee Lauder perfume and still a great deal. I bought Estee Lauder Pleasures. At first I wanna buy Beautiful, kase super love ko 'tong scent na 'to.. but for a change, ok din naman ang Pleasures.
Ay naku super love ko tlga ang make-up. Collecting make-ups and applying make-ups. Hay naku masyado na ko naooverwhelm sa mga make-ups dito, kya marami pa kong mga stocks dito... Well, pwede naman ipadala yun sa Pinas... hehehe. Sarap mamili ngyon season. Lahat sale... di na ko magkanda ugaga, kung ano pa pwedeng bilhin. Nasisira ang budget ko... wwwwaaaaa!!!
Hemming Jeans 101
Having a wide hips and not so gifted model legs, buying a pants was really a hard for me. That's why Im suki of Bench. Perfect fit talaga. Feeling Lucy Torres or Kris Aquino... hahaha. At dahil sa walang bench dito, paano na ang patalon ko na ubod ng haba na pwede ng ipalampaso sa sahig. So ano dapat gawin? Ipa-alter. I asked somebody how much yung alterations dito, ay sus $5 per leg... so $10/pair.. alangan naman isang leg lang noh! E sus 2 pants kaya ung binili ko... so gagastos ako ng $20. Eh isang blouse na yun. Naisip ko, ako na lang ang magtatahi. Hmmm... kailangan ng sewing machine. Nyak, e di ganon din gagastos pa rin ako ng $20. At dahil sa nagtitipid talaga ako, tatahiin ko na lang with my own bare hands. Correct! Alam ko naman ang basic stitches.
Here's the step-by-step instruction (better if you have sewing machine)
Measure your jeans up to what length you want.
From your measurement divide it by 2. Then fold it again. Do not include the original hem.
Secure it with pins
Stitch it. I did a back stitch.
Cut the excess fabric
Turn it over and Tadahhhh!!!
Oha.... iba na ang practical... hehehe
Pirated Blog
Before I blog about my subject, I didn't go with my husband kanina in a thanksgiving sale. Tinamad na ko eh... hehehe... and besides wala naman akong naisip na bilhin so, tinulog ko na lang.
Ok lets talk about my title. I found out that in a blogging world, eh meron palang namimirata. Oh yes, word for word. Isama mo na rin ang mga punctuation mark. Even digiscrapping layout na hindi naman sya yun and for sure eh di nya kilala yung mga pictures na nandon, pati yun she's claiming it as her own work. Oh di ba, ang tindi. Here's Cheche's site, and read how she found out na meron ng mga copycat sa blogs. And some of her entries were from my other online buddies kaya not just one yung kinopy paste nya at may I post sa kanyang blog... ano ba yan may mailagay lang? Kala nya cguro ok lang yung ganon ah. Its ok to post some topics from other blogsite pero rephrase it naman. Or better yet, give credits to the original author. Buti na lang senseless yung mga posts ko... hahaha.
By the way, this is the culprit.
Happy Thanksgiving
Its a Thanksgiving today and no work... yipee! We just had a simple lunch with my in-laws here in our place. We don't have turkey since I don't know how to cook it.. hehehe. So I just made Parmesan Chicken on top of Linguini Marinara sauce. My mother-in-law made a cassava cake. And tomorrow, the big day! The huge sale all over town, I mean all over the country. This is the much awaited event for them. The stores open at 5 am, so better be there earlier, kung ayaw mong maubusan, coz some go nuts with all those goodies. I'll just make kwento tomorrow.. just hope magising ako ng maaga... Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
Updates
I'll give you some updates with my driving lesson. Nikky let me drive from our place to my in- laws and vice versa. Kabado daw sya kase ang bagal ko raw. Well mabuti na rin yung mabagal kase naman mabilis. Sympre kailangan aware ako sa speed ko, kaya alalay lang talaga ako. Nakarating naman kme ng maluwalhati... hehehe. Di naman din ganon kadelikado magdrive dito since konti lang sasakyan since its weekend and wide naman ung mga kalye. Pero kanina pag-uwi, kinabahan lalo si Nikky and ako din kase madilim na and di ko masyado makita ung lines. Kaya di ko masteady ung manibela. Thank God at wala naman naging problema. Sa parking naman well, improving na rin ako. Nakakapark na ko na may katabing cars on both sides, pero di derecho.. pero atleast nasa loob pa rin ng lines... hehehe.
Bagong make-over ang aming apartment, sympre kasama na rin yung aming christmas tree.
That side lang muna.. hehehe..
This past few days nagflurries kaya lang di ko nakita kase tulog na ko... hehehe. Its winter time! wwwwiiiiiii!!!
Ready for Christmas
Time to put up some christmas decors, thou its too early for some Americans here but for us, just right on time.
Our christmas tree was given by Nikky's aunt kaya wala kmeng karapatan magreklamo..hehehe. Pero ok lang naman smen since masyadong matrabaho ang huge size tree and magastos sa mga decors. Our motiff for this year is red and gold. Kahet against si Nikky wala naman sya magagawa, he wants kase blue and silver pero decided na ko na red and gold, next year na lang sya. And because feel ko na nga ang christmas pati layout ng blog ko e on season din with matching background songs pa.
Before
Working on it
After
Di pa yan masyadong tapos kase kinapos ako sa lights... hehehe... kala ko ok na yung 100 lights, di pala so balik ulit bukas to buy another one and some more decors.
Bad day!
Its not a good today, which I thought it was. I got a voice message from my boss this morning and told me that something went wrong with the nightly task last night. I told her what happened with the system last night, that the computer was locked and I had no choice but to restart it. That's the cause of a big trouble today. Our system admin needs to start all over again and it will take 3-4 hours to complete the whole processing. But the thing is, we can't use the same system until its already been completed. Of course, everybody was affected with this problem and unfortunately, I'm the culprit. I was so upset. My boss ask me if Im ok and told her the truth that I'm not. As if the world was telling me that I should be the one to blame. That I gave them a hard time with their work and so on. Good enough that my boss lift up my spirit and told me that it was not my intention at all. Everything happens, there's no one to blame, we're all human and we should learn from our mistakes. Atleast, I did my very best and she appreciates that I have a concern with my work which she likes about me. She said that it was just a minor problem. She also protected me from our officemates asking what happened and told them that it was just a system failure. But the fact that I know its not my fault and restore everything, I can't help not to think that I screwed up the entire operation. Anyway, the damage has been done. And my boss assures me that it will not affect my record. So, life goes on!
Happy Halloween
Im celebrating halloween here at work. First time kung magtrabaho today. Ang masaklap eh Im scheduled to do the nightly task. And because nasa ibang lupalop na ko ng earth, maiiba na rin how I celebrate All Saint's and Soul's day.
Aside from laging walang pasok, e mga happenings din naman ang namimiss ko. When I was a kid, I remember before Nov. 1, pupunta na kme sa bahay ng tita ko sa Taguig. That time ang patay pa lang smen non e tiyuhin at tiyahin ng mommy ko and pati lolo't lola nila. Eto yung mga moments namen magpipinsan, takutan! Sympre sa mga panahon na 'to, almost scary movies ang mapapanood. Nasa iisang room lang kme non, para kmeng timang na nagsisiksikan while watching Magandang Gabi Bayan. Oh yes! patok na patok smen 'to. Sobrang sigawan, gulatan ang mga kaganapan sa mga oras na yun. Na halos ayaw mo ng lumabas ng kwarto khet ihing-ihi ka na dahil for sure pagtritripan ka. Kailangan may buddy ka paglumabas ka ng room. Di pa natatapos yan, bago matulog pagkwekwentuhan pa yung napanood namen. Bket ganon noh, napanood na nga ng sabay-sabay, pag-uusapan pa. Hanggang sa may sisigaw ng tama na yan matulog na.
Ok, the next day, parang may picnic. Big umbrella, tupperwares, junk foods, blanket, candles and flowers. Ang destination? Public cemetery. Khet sobrang sikip, init, eh ok naman kase aside from na parang family reunion na rin 'to, na halos mapagod ako kakamano, eh eto rin yung magandang opportunity na makakakita ka ng "cute boy cute boy.. alert mga harot!".. bwahahaha! At di mawawala ang mga pagkaing kalye. Khet may baon kmeng food, trip ko pa rin kumain ng mga ganon. Manggang nasa stick, fishballs, scramble (color pink with brown cow choco syrup), ice buko, ice candy, popcorn na color pink etc. Dahil nakakainip sa sementeryo, gumagawa na lng kme ng candle balls. Palakihaan ng size, halos mapaso na kamay ko, agawan, intayan sa pagpatak ng kandila... hahaha. Tapos iuuwi ko pa un sa bahay namen, at ididisplay ko pa. Ang ending, tinatapon lang ng nanay ko.
Just 3(?) years ago, my lola passed away kaya di na kme don sa public cemetery nagpupunta. Sa memorial park na. Sosyal na kame... hehehe. Since bago pa lang ung memorial park na yun, konti pa lang ang mga tenants don. Kaya oct. 31 pa lang nandon na kme and overnight stay kme don. Ok din yung park na yun kase meron silang halloween party for kids, pwede pa magpa-face paint.
So cguro by next year, eh pwede na ko maki-trick or treat dito. Feel ko kaya bumili ng costume... I can be devilish girl.. para wala ng ka-effort effort. Bwahahaha (mala Celia Rodriguez laugh)
My Wishlist
Hmmm... I can feel now the cooooolllllll breeze... yuhooo... Christmas just around the corner, my favorite season of the year! So sympre since its my favorite dapat masaya ako. At para maging masaya dapat meron akong something the best for myself. Ano un? Ay naku still undecided. Out na sa list ko ang laptop kase meron na ko courtesy of my husband. So bawal na ang humingi sa knya ng presence (next year na lang ulit... hehehe). So ano nga ba ang naiisip kong gift for moi.
  1. Cellphone - ayos pa naman ung phone ko (SE K600i). 1 year old pa lang naman, pero ewan ko ba dala ng inggit ko sa pinsan ko, he bought blackberry curve parang gusto ko na rin. Either curve or 8800 series. When Im searching the net, I found this Nokia Smartphone N95, and goodluck naman sken kase it cost $649 something. Nice din yung Prada LG fone. Ay naman!!!!
  2. Digital Cam - as usual ok pa rin naman ung digicam ko, pero ewan ko ba parang wala akong gastos at gusto ko magbibili ng magbibili. Well, kaya ko rin naman gusto bumili para ung luma bigay ko na lang sa sister ko sa Pinas. Ang bad ko gift sken yun ni Nikky... hehehe... napag-uusapan naman yun.. hehehe. Kung mapera lang ako gusto ko sana ung pang pro na camera... nagfifiling akong pro eh... hehehe.
  3. Bag - simula ng dumating ako dito e wala pa kong nabibiling bag kase ung mga fave bags ko from Pinas e bitbit ko dito. So I'm thinking to buy a new Coach bag, cheaper than the above 2.
Sympre di pa nagtatapos 'to... sa mga susunod ng mga araw eh for sure may additional na naman sa list ko.
My 1st all staff meeting
I just attended our Fall all staff meeting. In my 5 years of working, its my 1st time to attend a meeting with the executives. Unlike in Pinas kase, usually in strategic planning, mostly its for the marketing people, kaya di ako nakakaattend pero sympre may background naman ako kase asssistant ako ng EVP and Head of the Branch Banking Group. But this time, its for everybody. I guessed konti lang kase kme compared to my previous employer.
I had a great time and buti na lang nag-ayos ako... hehehe... kase I wasn't expecting na they will introduce the new employee.
Oh by the way, finally I tried eating strawberry. Ewan ko bat ko naisipan kainin. Verdict? Ok lang parang kiwi. Hehehe...
Aside from target goals for the next year, they discussed also the security. There was a robbery incident 3 years ago in one of our branches. The robber handed a note to the teller and introduce himself. When the teller read the note, she passed it to the another teller. Anyway to make the story short, they were robbed a $1,000. Then the robber went to the convenient store just across the street and bought a lottery ticket and some beers. I think while scratching a lotto ticket, he was caught by a police... hehehe.. Mautak gusto palaguin ang pera...
Terrorist or Not?
I heard a news from the Philippines that Glorietta 2 in Makati was exploded at around 1pm last Friday. The explosion was in the storage room of Luk Yuen restaurant. Actually, they aren't sure if it was a bomb or an LPG tank. As I watched it in youtube, super lakas tlga kase up to the next building which is Park Square e nabasag yung mga glass. Grabe nakakatakot talaga, since holiday season is now fast approaching, dito naglalabasan yung mga walang konsensyang mga nilalang. Pati yung mga walang kinalalaman sa kung ano man ang pinaglalaban nila or whatever, e nadadamay. Kakapanood ko pa lang ng World Trade Center. Hay.... ano ba wala na bang katapusan.
Twice na pinapasabog yang Glorietta, last time ung sa may Arcade area, Cyber something.... kalimutan ko na yung name... tapos eto nga. E buti nga di tinuloy ung time na nag kudeta don sa Oakwood.
Hay hay hay!!!!
Samut-sari
I can't think of a title for this post kaya samut-sari na lang, tutal halo-halo naman ang ipopost ko.
Ay naku, its been a week na rin di ako nagpost. Aside from wala naman unusual happenings eh kinatatamaran ko na rin. E pano maghapon na akong nakababad sa pc, masakit na daliri ko no! Pero sympre from time to time eh kailangan ko na rin mag-update, lalo na new design na naman ang blog ko.
What keeps me busy? Watching Meteor Garden Season 1. Yes. I ordered it from ebay, so marathon ang drama ko ngyon. Sympre namiss ko si Jerry Yan. Hehehe. Until now e im still practicing my driving. I enrolled a driving lesson in Pinas, got a license pero that was before I left. Madalian in short. I know madali lang since automatic naman ang car dito, pero sympre I still need to practice especially reverse parking and hopefully before winter, I can get my state license.
Speaking of winter, I got an email from my aunt in California. She was asking me if we can go to New Jersey again and celebrate the holidays with them and the rest of my relatives. Too bad, one of my officemate was on scheduled vacation on holidays so I can't make it. Even my husband. I was kinda sad coz its been a long time since I haven't seen my aunt. I think the last time we see each other was year 1993. Lalo na dito sa states, wala naman silang long vacation, unlike in Pinas, almost 1 week walang pasok during christmas season. Thats what I missed there. Imagine first time akong papasok on my birthday (dec. 24). Eh in Pinas, on that day all of us were so busy preparing food for Noche Buena. So di naman ako nagpapakasenti noh!
Pero di naman ako masyadong malungkot. Kase sympre kasama ko naman ang asawa ko...
Saturday Night
Our friend invited us to watch with them the match of Pacquiao and Barrera in pay-per-view at their place last night. We really had a great time. But aside from that I won 45 bucks in our bet. Its a draw lots from numbers 0 to 12. That numbers are the round numbers. I got O, meaning an anonymous decision. So I got the money.... hehehe.
That afternoon, we watched "The Kingdom". The movie was good. Nakakatakot nga lang kase yung mga scenes, talagang nangyayari in reality.
Yun lang...
Desperate Housewives controversy
Ok, the words spreads so fast na almost every blog I visits eh meron silang post about this. Papahuli ba ko.... never!!!! Thou masyado ng overrated na yung isyu, eh sige lang magrereact lang ako. Eto ay tamang neutral opinion lang ha... ok.
If racist and capabilities of a Filipino doctor pointing out on that TV show, insulting nga naman yun. Parang sinabi na rin nila na low standard of education in med ang Pinas. We've known for a fact that most Filipinos working abroad are in medical field. Di pa rin naman nagpapahuli ang Pinas sa mga latest medical technologies.
In a show, Hatcher was asking to see the diplomas. I guess she just want to make sure that diplomas was not from Recto University. In Recto University, lahat registrar.... hehehe. Kwento ko lang, when I was preparing for my wedding, napadaan ako sa Recto to look for someone who can make an envelopes for my invites. Si kuya hinabol pa ko kung gusto ko raw magpagawa ng diploma, 200pesos lang daw (can't remember the price), same day makukuha na.... nyahaha! at may kasama pang transcript... buy 1 take 1! nyahaha! Oh baka naman, yung kumuha ng degree sa Recto University, e dating nursing student na kumuha ng board exam na nagkataon na nagkaroon ng leakage kaya isa na sya ngyong Fa"ke"ith Healer at ang drug store nya e sangkaterbang bote na may laman na kung ano-ano sa bangketa ng Quiapo.
Until now, the executives of the show hasn't explain their sides. Pero isipin din nten na dahil sa mga illegal operations sa Pinas eh bka basis din nila yun.
Overtime????
3:00 am and still up? because I'm still at work. Damn! Its my sked to do the nightly task and we had this issues to think that both systems that we are using can't figure it out what went wrong. By the way, Im doing this nightly task by myself, good thing my officemate was still here and help me to resolve this things. Then my supervisor came over to help too. From 7pm til 2am still wondering where to look for that error. And finally, it turns out that we need to exclude this item.... grrr!!! It was just a minor thing that created a big trouble. Can you just imagine the time wasted that by now I'm with my husband, eat my dinner and lying on our bed. I'm already have of my work so hopefully in God's mercy, I'll finish this on time or earlier. Expected time? 5:00am.
To stay awake, I watched this amazing video. If there's boneless bangus, there's a boneless human.
Wasak na hymen nito... nyahaha!
The Face Behind this Blog
Tagged by Irel
The face behind this blog... hanep sa picture, all smile! hehehe. Ok let's talk all about me.
My nickname is Wella, but my ate's calls me Weng, my friends naman sometimes calls me Wells, Wewe, Wellapot and my only tita calls me Lowel. To be honest, I don't like my name pero I don't hate it either. Wala lang feeling ko lang. If I'm given the chance to change my name, I want Trixie, bitch na bitch ang dating... hehehe. Sabi ng mom ko, di naman daw Lowela dapat ang name ko, it should be Leilani or Liezel. E si lola ko (mom of my dad), naging kontrabida sa mga panahon na yun at may I suggested na "Lowela". And sabi pa ng mom ko, di daw dapat ganon yung spelling non, dapat "Louella". Ang may sala.... ang nurse! Unconscious pa siguro ang mom ko non at di nasabi yung correct spelling for my name kaya si nurse nagmarunong at yun ang ginawa sa birth certificate ko.. well pronounced di ba. Ni let go na lang ng mom ko para di na magulo.
Among the 5 kids, ako lang daw ang naka-experience ng may yaya. My mom was so busy that time sa aming family business (small restaurant). Pero nung 2 years old na ko, di na ko nagyaya coz we transferred to another place and gave up the resto. Lumaki ako sa palo ng tsinelas kase ubod ako ng tigas ng ulo... pasaway na bata in short. Pero di ko naman masasabi na bratinella ako. In a way, proud ako sa sarili ko kase never ako gumawa ng something na ikakasakit ng ulo ng parents ko. Actually takot ako sa kuya ko kesa sa dad ko. Kase ang dad ko less talk sya... kya feeling ko ok lang... pero pag nagsalita na sya, tagus tagusan, makakarinig ka na ng mga words na sasabihin mo sa sarili mo na sana bingi ka na lang... hehehe...
Speaking of takot, I must say na masyado akong matatakutin. Bihira ako manood ng mga suspense movies, yun e yung mga sapilitang manood para wag masabihan na KJ (kulang sa joy). Takot ako sa multo, and sa daga.. basta any forms ng rats (rabbit, hamster, guinea pig, white mouse).
I love sour and salty foods. I don't have a sweet tooth, mana ako sa mommy ko. Di rin ako nakain ng mga spicy foods kaya di ako pwede sa Thailand. I don't eat chocolates with nuts and peanut butter. Siguro yung with nuts, toblerone lang. When it comes to cake, red ribbon products lang. Kase not too sweet yung cakes nila... and from casa bravo ba yun... basta yun na yun. I'm not an experimental person na lahat ittry na kainin, basta kung sa paningin ko eh di na masarap, I won't dare to eat it.
In music naman, I had no particular genre. Anything goes, old or new music, ok lang. Siguro depende na rin sa trip ko, but usually I listened to RnB, Trance or House party music. Just to lighten up my mood. I remembered my friend asked me what will be my funeral song, I said I want "Passenger Seat by Stephen Speaks". Why? I don't know, I just like the song.
I want everything in organize, but Im not OC, siguro metikolosa lang. Sobrang arte ko lang siguro na kala ng mommy ko e super gulo ng room ko kase nga madami akong abubot. These abubots are my collections. When I was in my grade school years, I collect stationeries with or without scents na super exchange pa with my friends na ginawa ko na rin business. Lagi ako nagpapabili sa mommy ko non, ung may kasama pang envelope. Tapos ibebenta ko ng piso pag may envelope, 50cents pag wala. Tapos lagi akong nagtitira ng isang piraso for me. Nung highschool naman ako, archie comics naman, until now naiwan ko nga lang sa Pinas. Then I started collecting watches, sympre may sponsor ako ng watch ko.. my kuya..hehehe. I had benetton, swatch, pop swatch, esprit, bubble watch ng sesame street, boy london, pati smiley watches. Different colors and style. But now, 3 watches na lang ginagamit ko. Nung nagstart na ko magwork, sympre can afford na ko, shoes and bags naman. Taka nga ako e di ako mahilig sa clothes.
Im not an ambitious person, actually nung bata ako di ko nga alam kung ano ambition ko eh. I just want to be successful in whatever Im in and in the future.
So thats it!
Lately, I've been tagged from my online buddies, and I haven't started any of it. So eto na, tagged by Steph. 6 weird things about me. I don't know if its weird or not basta feeling ko hindi lang sya normal. hehehe.
Instructions:Write 6 weird things about you and post it in your blog. Make sure to state the rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Let them know that they were tagged by leaving a comment in their blogs.
1. When I eat squash in pinakbet, I mashed it before I eat. As in mashed na parang baby food.
2. When I watched a movie that has a sequel, nauuna muna ung Part 2 kesa sa Part 1. But not all movies.
3. In a tapsilog, I mix ketchup (Papa ketchup) and vinegar as a sawsawan ng Tapa. Yummy!
4. In pizza, I eat first the end part. And sometimes, if I started don sa thiniest part, di ko na kinakain ung end part.
5. In a glass of softdrinks or any beverages na may straw, lagi kong hinahalo na di naman dapat haluin.
6. Never pa ko nakakakain ng strawberry, the fruit itself. Ayaw ko kase. hehehe..
Now Im tagging Ann, Irel, Thet, Bern, Marlou, Jean
Fall Season
A few days from now, fall season starts. Ay naku, now pa lang sobrang giniginaw na ko. As of this time its already 48 degrees samahan pa ba ng strong wind.... nginigggggggg.... At sabi pa ng asawa ko e hintayin ko mag negative 0 degree sa winter. Buhay pa kaya ako non? E super dooper lamigin person kaya ako.. goodluck na lang ba sken?
I don't hate cold temp nor like it, basta di humid ok na sken, kya lang minsan nakakainis pag malamig. Baket? Una sa lahat nakakatamad... bumangon, kumilos, maligo (?), nakaka-dry ng hair and skin, and while im typing, naninigas ung mga daliri ko... sus naman! Pero infairness masarap kumain sa mga panahon na ganito. Wwwwaaa ang figure, careful!
But of course, Im excited for the winter. Sympre first time in my entire life ako makaka-experience ng snow... wwwwwiiiiiiiiiii! At wag kalimutan ang outfit, the boots and the trench coat, di bale kahit di leather kase sobrang mahal. So this weekend agenda.. shopping!!!!!
Ang Lupit Ni Inday
“I stay awake in the coldness of the darkened sky contemplating why, for some reasons, has my emptiness made itself manifests, extending to that niche where I was given life and growth, that because of austerity I was made separated from…”
- Inday… hindi makatulog dahil nahohomesick
“I am solitary. I find it hard to succumb into slumber, though the downpour of rain should’ve made it easy. This exuberant emotional glue I have for you, cannot be simply washed away. The multiplicity of what I feel for you is inevitable. This isn’t platonic. It’s real, true romance.”
- Inday, nageemote sa may bintana, habang iniisip si Dodong, ang boyfriend niya
“The statute restricts me to love you but you have the provocation. The way you smile is the proximate cause why I love you. We have some rules to think of. We have no vested rights to love each other because the upper household dismissed my petition!”
- ganito nakipagbreak si Inday kay Dodong (driver ng kapitbahay)
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Amo: Inday bumili ka nga ng mga isda.. o nga pla inglesira ka… would you please purchase many fishes for our this week’s meals?
Inday: Judging from your statement I believe you meant a variety of fish. The term “fishes”, although rarely and even erroneously used, connotes a plethora or an array of different kinds of the aforementioned gilled creatures. But the more pressing questions before I traveresed the road to the wet market would be: What certain type of fish? Fillet or not? Frozen or just right smack the day’s catch? (Pauses) Aaah… by manner of careful extrapolation, given the meager budget in this houshold’s quasi-peasant middle class taste, I assume then I will source the staple “galewng-gowng”. Am I correct?
Amo: grrrrr!
Inday: You meant the freshwater milkfish? Then the “ba-ngooz” is it! - - - -
@@@@@@@@@
“La vida no es una broma actualmente. El dinero es tan duro de pasar. Puede usted bajar el precio parci mi? Soy ya su compradora avido diario por favor?
- si Inday tumatawad sa merkado ng isinama siya ng amo sa España
*Drunken shrimp and blue lobster meat with caviar serve with milagrosa rice (red avriety) and apricot sauce
*Vegetables in balsamic vinegar splashed with extra virgin olive olive
*Lychee and peach salad with sour cream cheese topped with lemon zests
- baon ni Junior sa daycare na inihanda ni Inday
“Ipomea aquatica has become the constant ingredient to this Filipino delicacy which is very helpful in the digestion during the peristaltic process of the food we intake. Due to the continuous rains and floods, the harvest of the said vegetable has lessen the production in the market.”
- banat ni Inday kung bakit walang “kangkong” sa nilutong sinigang
“Heavy fire that exerted by the stimulus affect the best conductor of heat which is the steel, causing the “oriza sativa” which is the scientific name of rice to change its state of color, smell as well as the taste.”
- sagot ni Inday nang tanungin siya ng amo kung bakit nasunog ang sinaing
“Off you go! Under no circumstance this house would relent to such unabashed display of vagrant destitution!”
- si Inday, pinapaalis ang makulit na pulubi sa gate… (Taray talaga ni Inday!)
“Allergens triggered the immune response. Eosinophilic migration occurs to the reaction site and release of chemotactic and anaphylotoxin including histamine and prostaglandins. These substance results to increase circulation to the site promoting redness.”
- sagot ni inday nun tanungin ni sir kung bakit may rashes si Junior
Amo: Day! Bakit may bukol si Junior?!
Inday: Compromising safety with useless aesthetics, the not-so-well engineered architectural design of our kitchen lavatory affected the boy’s cranium with a slight boil at the left temple near the auditory organ.
Amo: (Di nakareact)
@@@@@@@@
“Dear Mom, Had it not been for the smelling salt, I must have collapsed moment ago. Junior has become a little monster to me. Remember the head accident he had? As if it wasn’t enough, he was summoned by the principal of his shabily run academe. Oh such an erudite bunch of baboons! I never lot being a governess can be such a strenuous employ.
Your daughter,
Inday”
“Dear Inday, Salbahe ka! Magpadala ka ng pera! Nasa ospital nanay mo, dumugo ang ilong kababasa ng pesteng sulat mo! Tatay”
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Mister: Bakit tuwing pag-uwi ko, nadadatnan kitang nanunuod ng TV??!!!
Inday: Because I don’t want you to see me doing absolutely nothing!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Amo: Inday di ba nanood ka ng The Buzz kahapon? Bkit daw umalis si Angel Locsin sa GMA7? Inday: Sometimes people choose to leave not because of selfish reasons but because they just know that things will get worse if they’ll stay. Leaving can be a tough act and it’s harder when people can’t understand you for doing so.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@
“Physical stress and excessive work may result to serious damage to one’s body. It is therefore essential that once in a while we take a break from our usual routine to replenish the lost energy we once had.”
- sabi ni Inday sa amo noong humingi siya ng dayoff
Misis: Inday, bakit mo binenta yung sirang silya?
Inday: I have computed the chair's fair value less cost to sell, and the value in use using projections for 5 years and a pre-tax discount rate. Accordingly, the value in use is lower, so I decided to sell the chair. This in accordance with PAS18 on Revenue, PAS16 on Property, Plant, and Equipment, and PAS36 on Impairment of Assets!
Misis: ADIK ka talaga Inday!
***
“Don’t ride on my popularity! I am not your long lost sister.”
Iyan ang sagot ni INDAY sa sinabi ni EDERLYN na siya ang nawawala nitong kapatid .
***
“Please do not ask me to choose between the both of you. It’s not easy to thresh out feelings when there are matters still to be discussed. The heart is slow to learn.”
Iyan ang pakiusap ni DODONG kina INDAY at EDERLYN upang huwag mag-away ang mga ito.
***
“If the two eventually fell in love, despite the disparity of their ages and academic levels, this only lends substance to the truism that the heart has reasons for its own which reason does not know.”
Iyan naman ang sagot ni INDAY sa ina ni DODONG na tutol sa kanilang pagmamahalan.
Hair Makeover
I've finally decided to have a hair cut, but not too short, a shoulder length will do. Bad trip tlga ang split ends, I thought wala na, pero with the cold temperature, nagddry talaga ang hair ko. And Im also sick and tired of those falling hair, e long hair pa naman ako kaya mahirap i-manage.
Thou, a simple layered cut lang naman ang gusto ko, I tried to search for a virtual makeover. You can upload your own photo and tried their different but limited hair styles. Here are some of my experimental look.
Marimar... Awwww!!!
Marimar was originally a Mexican telenovela and i think it was 1st foreign telenovela shown in the Philippines. At first, di ko type panoorin, but I guess kung may mga tao sa bahay nyo na fanatic sa ganito, e mahahawa ka talaga, lalo na mommy ko. So eventually, ayun nakikinood na rin ako. At naging fanatic na ko ng mga telenovela, from Taiwan sympre ang Meteor Garden yun, and Koreans.
And now, Marimar has a remake in Philippine version. Thanks to youtube. Well, khet papano e updated ako, and no commercial break, maliit nga lang ung screen pero napagtytyagaan naman. Marian Rivera, who played the title role, I must say she was very effective in portraying it. Dingdong Dantes as Sergio, hhhmmm... ok na rin. At si Fulguso, aba di sya askal, isang golden retriever.. sosyal and voice by Michael V. kaya may comedy. Si Corazon played by Manilyn Reynes, hmmm.. di ko type, sana si Michael V. na lang like yung tulad sa bubble gang before. But so far, ok naman.. naadik nga ako kagabi eh, parang ayaw ko ng matulog.
Good news!
First, I already received my laptop just yesterday.. alright!!!! Now ko lang nagamit, kc ung asawa ko e may I configured ng kung ano-ano.
Almost 2 months ko rin hinintay 'to. Madami nga actually nagreklamo sa Dell. Ang reason nila shortage of parts daw. E samantalang super promote sila sa mga ads nila un pala papalpak sila. Dapat anticipated na nila na maraming oorder sa knila. Ung nabasa ko nga sa forum nila, ung iba disappointed kc gift nila un sa mga anak nila this school opening. Maswerte na nga lang ako kse ung may representative ang Mayo Clinic sa Dell, kya may progress ung order namen. Kaya masaya! nyahaha!
Second, kinausap ako knina ng boss ko. She asked me how am I doing with the job, if i like it etc. She appreciated the efforts, and doing my job well done. She didn't regret of hiring me.... and I did my work beyond her expection. Wow!!! It feels good, that somehow they recognized my hardwork. Actually, they're (co-workers) generous of saying "very good", "job well done", and sympre with that kind of appreciation, mas lalo kang gaganahan magtrabaho and no heavy heart pagpapasok, kse mahirap magtrabaho if ur no longer happy sa work mo.
What I miss in Pinas?
One of my co-workers asked me out of nowhere, what food do I miss in the Philippines. Hmmm... I stopped and think, thinking of nothing. I guessed its not the food but the things I do back home. When Im bored, either going to friend's house or at the mall just to hang around. Taking a jeep or tricycle, na super dooper haba ng pila. Traffic, khet nakakainis.. its the only time na makapagmuni-muni. Telebabad, na wala naman minsan ka-sense sense ung topic, pero ok pa rin. At ang showbiz, wag isnabin! Sa politics, ay forget it... wala akong alam jan. And of course, my family. Namimiss ko kaya ung mga bangayan namen.. hehehe... wala kse akong kasigawan dito eh.
Speaking of family, eto at namili na kme na ipapadala. Drained na ang bulsa ko.. wwwwaaaa!!!! Ayan, magsawa sila sa Pringles at chocolates... hehehe
what matters
A friend of mine, forwarded this article.
What Matters
CTALK By Cito Beltran
The Philippine Star 02/09/2007
Having opted to live a less stressful lifestyle away from the limelight or
the Rat Race, it's but normal for people who made the choice, to sometimes
wonder if they did the right thing.
They experience pangs of guilt about being under employed, less productive
and certainly reduced in their income potential. While everyone else is
BUSY making a LIVING, you ask yourself if it's a mature thing to be at home
or semi-retired at the farm.
Are you wasting all your God-given talents raising kids, growing your own
food, or simply living on very little money and simple needs? Shouldn't you
be involved in today's politics, today's technology? And are your friends
right about saying "Sayang Ka"?
Last month, a friend called me about an opening in a major corporation that
was paying P300,000 a month, all the perks, and even a brand new Volvo. My
friend asked me how I would react if the job was offered to me since I was
very qualified.
It took me all of 5 seconds to tell her I wouldn't accept it.
To begin with P100,000 would certainly end up with the government as taxes.
That would leave me with only P200,000.
To earn that, I would have to be at work by eight everyday, instead of
coming up with imaginative tricks to wake up my daughter like placing her
puppy in her bed, or simply standing over her watching this angelic child
in her field of dreams.
I would have to eat breakfast by six, leave the house by 6:30. That means
no more breakfast conversations with my wife and certainly an end to our
morning prayers not just for us but for family and friends.
From the P200,000, I would have to spend at least P20,000 a month or 10% of
net to pay for gasoline driving the brand new Volvo to office everyday.
So in effect, I would only be earning P180,000 or even less. Not to mention
that my friends who sell Mercedes Benzes, Jaguars, etc. would brand me as a
traitor.
From the net salary of +/- P180,000, I would have to give up the lunch I
have with my wife 3 to 4 times a week at home.
Instead my power of choice adds another burden where I would have to decide
daily where in the business district I ought to have lunch, merienda if
needed, and from time to time even dinner. I would have to choose from a
menu instead of whipping up something in my kitchen.
When you add up the bill, plus service charge, plus VAT you can easily
average another P20,000 in expenses. Which means, that what we originally
thought would be a net income of P200,000 has now gone down to P160,000.
In the absence of maintenance you can enter about P10,000 as your average
monthly repair bill for labor and materials. So now, you discover you're
only earning P150,000 a month.
Instead of being in a HOME I own, I will have to try to be "at home" in an
office where I will be spending more of my "awake time". This finally
solves the puzzle; why do we always fill our offices with personal stuff
which we will have to take home in a box when we retire, resign or get
fired?
From having my independence and personal views, I would then have a real
live flesh and bones Boss (because of what I thought was P200,000 a month
salary) can tell me how to jump! Someone who's seniority or proprietary
rights automatically makes him right even if he's stupid.
Because you now have to spend most of the time at the office or behind a
desk, you can't do your regular walk in the park or jog around the village
which is also your bonding time with your spouse, your kids, or your dogs.
You either join a gym or get a personal trainer.
When you total fees, travel, and outfits, your monthly fitness bill would
be around P5,000 which means your net pay just went down to P145,000 a
month or less than half the original offered salary.
My dear wife reminds me to include clothing and image-related expenditures
specially for women. The clothes, the make-up, the jewelry, as well as the
business accessories such as the laptop loaded with Vistas program, the
latest cell phones, iPod etc.
Even if you paid all of that on installment for 24 months, it would be in
the area of P20,000 a month which further reduces your income to P125,000 a
month.
The problem with this major part of the expense is many people mistakenly
call them necessary investments, professional expense, but don't see them
as deductions from PERSONAL wealth.
It would also mean, not sharing the responsibility of taking our child to
school, missing out on small talk that tell you big things in children's
minds, and dropping out on all the parent-child activities.
I would also nullify all the adjustments we made in the last 5 years where
we integrated home life with work in order to be more of a family than
employees with a family.
Speaking of home life, anyone who spends a lot of time at work can testify
that in your absence you will have to hire a full crew to do all the
maintenance and repair you use to prevent or do yourself when you spend
time at home.
In your absence, who's going to fix leaking roofs, flooded toilets, busted
aircons, creaking doors, or all the usual things REAL MEN with real tools
do?
If I actually went out to get the job that pays P300,000 plus a brand new
Volvo, it would have cost me breakfasts with my wife, trips to school with
my daughter, morning talks and prayers with God, affirmation of my role as
husband, father. I would be relinquishing responsibility for my house, as
well as my home.
What we've done is determine what really matters, what and how much we
really need, give up what we don't need or care for and trust in God and
not in men.
This is what I call real life cost-benefit analysis. To make an accounting
of what we think we're getting against what we know we're losing. Sometimes
earning more actually costs more.
This guy is inlove with you pare...
Today, very much accepted na ung homosexual relationship. Pero may times na nakaka-shock pa rin when we see them holding hands, cuddling each other etc. Sometimes, we think na pineperahan lang ni macho guy ung jowa nyang badingersi. Nagiging judgemental tyo na di naman dapat kase di naman tyo involved sa relationship nila. Bakit ba tyo judgemental? Concern ba tyo kay badingersi na baka ubusin ung pera nya or talagang initial impression na tlga nten pag nakakakita ng ganon.
After I watched this video, I admired the macho guy for unveiling his relationship with badingersi in national TV pa ha. Hindi lahat kayang umamin na may syoting silang baklush. Siguro un lang ung mga hindi sincere... siguro lang ha.. basta watch this na lang.
The Lady "B" updated
Whew.. its not yet over with this Malu(wag)Fernandez controversy. Because of the power of the internet, everybody read her article. And for her so called "freedom of expression", everybody was totally outrage. The website, where I found this, got 1000+ comments. Grabe! Its so funny reading those brutal opinions. E kase naman khet nanggagalaiti na sila, may sense of humor pa din.
I just found out na pinalabas sa news (TV Patrol) etong controversial na babaeng 'to. Aba dapat lang na ibroadcast ung ginawa nya para di tularan ng iba. The network wants her side but she declined to be interview, instead she wrote a public apology and resigned in Manila Standard and People Asia. Hmmm... she resigned or she was fired???
A day of thunderstorm
Its a 24 hours of thunderstorm last saturday. Our apartment got flooded. Well lucky for us because the wet area was just near the aircon, but the rest of the unit from ground floor was totally wet. They had to move their things because the whole carpet needs to pull out and replace a new one. Sanay ako sa baha.. pero di ako sanay na binabaha.. gets?
This pictures c/o Sherwin.. thanks man!
Wala ng problem sa tubig pag mag-ccr...
Hindi po yan swimming pool na may slide.. playground po yan.. fyi
From my camera, eto po ang hitsura ng apartment namen
Free carpets!!!
Xtra: Finally I passed the exam in driving. Sus ok na naman pla not to get an instruction permit since I have a valid driver's license in Pinas. They will still acknowledge a valid international license for 1 year. So pwede na ko magdrive on my own. Pero i still need a road test to acquire a Minnesota driver's license.
New layout...
I'm in the mood to change my blog layout, but when I searched to look for some inspiration/theme, I can't find any. Oh well, ok na naman ung layout ng blog ko, nag-iinarte lang ako. :) I forgot where i found this template... baka sakaling merong bago. Since I couldn't find any, tinamad na ko. Umalis na lang kme ng hubby ko, ate our lunch in a buffet resto and watched the Rush Hour 3. Nasa labas na rin lang naman kme eh namili na rin ng kung anong anek-anek sa bahay, bukas na ung for myself... hehehe.
Mas lalo pang nakakatamad kase may thunderstorm dito. I don't know if it will last 'til next week. Sa ngyon, ang masarap gawin eh... humilata at kumain. Hintayin ang bukas at mamasyal na naman... hehehe...
X's: Thanks to Irel for the code.. atleast khet papano may nagawa ako sa blog ko.. ;)
The Lady "B" - part 2
I thought Im over with this issue... when I posted this in my multiply account, my friends can't control their reactions. here are some :
"what she wrote was appalling...akala mo naman kung sinong sobrang yaman at ganda! hmp!
the things about the mosquitoes and OFWs may be true BUT STILL, she shouldn't have written those things, given na nga eh, bakit kailangan pang i-emphasize? as if naman napakasamang bagay na ang magkaroon ng mosquitoes or maging maingay sa eroplano ng mga kapwa pilipino. as in, masama ba yun???? dapat sa ganyang mga klase ng tao hindi na pinababalik ng pilipinas eh. " - IVY
"I dont think theres nothing wrong with that blog or what not..We have to remember she wrote what she feels and thats it..We must not forget that we are all guilty of discriminating every now and then..
example: "Oh man I went to the party last night and everybody seems like to shop at WalMart."
theres nothing wrong with shopping at WalMart but for just telling a story it made it look bad.
bottom line is We dont have to agree to Miss Piggie over there on what she tells on her story.She forgot to mention that her broke ass vacation story is LAME! hehehe" - SHERWIN
"binasa ko nga dn yan nung pinost ni pobs... pasalamat yang baboy n yan di ko siya nakasabay sa eroplano ng panahon n yan although malabong naka emirates ako dahil may stopover. pro anyways, wg lang mag krus ang landas nmin dhil lalaitin ko dn siya mula ulo hanggang paa.. helooo bgo kya sya mag inarte at kesa pinangbi2li nia ng LV bag ung pera nia, magpa LIPO kaya sya noh! mayaman pla sya eh, pagandahin nia muna sarile nia. masyado ng masikip ang mundo pra sa obese na kagaya nia. wahahahah." - YEN
"I think she's very arrogant and "stuck up". She's just trying to big note herself. It is OK to tell about your holiday experiences but you should not criticise or judge others so quickly in the process. I have been on flights with plenty of OFWs and here in Brunei there are daming Filipinos. To me, the OFWs are heroes. (I am biased, my wife is from Narra and soon we'll celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary.) Cheers" - JIM
"hahaha ... yun lang kaya niya gawin... kaya ayaw niya ng beach kasi mataba siya... too fat to wear skinny bathing suits. Ano ba ginawa niya sa Greece? Sight-seeing lang naman ginawa niya dun. Based on the photos balot na balot siya. People like her is what I call "mga biglang yaman". Real rich people are so humble and down to earth. Walang kwenta ang LV at Jo Malone niya kung ang ugali niya eh kasing baho ng ebs ng baboy. ewwwwwwww!" - ANN
"who's this Big girl pretending to be someone na sya lang ang may pera sa earth... dapat ipadala yan sa Basilan kasi ikinahihiya nya ang mga kapwa nya.... hmph!" - LETLET
"honga pala im currently reading(again) "bakit baliktad magbasa ng libro ang mga Pilipino"... medyo related to what that "im-more-of-a-pig-than-a-filipino" said. may mga pilipino na sobrang k*pal at kinakahiya ang pinas.
but for me, the best pa rin sa pinas kase may balot, ube ice cream, lechon and we eat strange bit of animals- "adidas"(chicken's feet), "helmet"(chicken head), "kurbata"(neck and thigh=necktie), "betamax" (video-cassette-like blocks of animal blood), "PAL" (chicken wings) etc... at yung mga jeep.... na lahat na ng pangalan ng angkan mo eh nakasulat na sa kisame... at sobrang hospitable naten kase kahit na wala na tayong makain at kulang pa satin ang pagkain eh nag-aalok pa rin tayo sa kung sino mang kakilala ang makikita natin. (huy kain tayo!---kumain ka na ba? kain ka muna!)
at para dyan kay "im-more-of-a-pig-than-a-filipino", malamang mas mabuti kung naging lechon ka nalang. dahil makapal ang balat mo." - MAE
The Lady "B"
I read this from my multiply buddy. Sa post nya sobrang nang-gagalaiti sya sa inis. So binasa ko ung link kung bket sya bwisit na bwisit. Tutal nasa mood naman ako na ok lang mabwisit... hehhee. Anyway, nung nabasa ko na ung reason behind that anger, aba na high-blood ako... walang reason para di magwalang imik... para makarelate kyo.. here's the article (click the image for larger view)
Now, sino ang di maiinis sa kanya??? I know na there are times nakakainis ung ibang Pinoy. Pero sa kwento nya, I don't see anything wrong na magkamustahan or kung ano ung pabango na gamit ng mga OFW. Pakialam ba nya... Masyado bang syang nadisturb sa mga pangyayari. Siguro dati rin syang domestic helper at may malupit na karanasan sa amo nya kya gustong kalimutan ang lahat. Kaya pag nakakakita sya ng OFW, nabwibwisit sya.
And between the 2 places, mas nag-enjoy sya sa Greece. Imagine puro praises ung sinabi nya don sa place, pero in Boracay, una kagad nyang sinabi, daming mosquitoes.
Yan ang nagagawa ng mga ibang nagpupunta sa abroad. Kala mo kung sino, nakapunta lang ng ibang bansa... bket sya lang ba??? Kung tutuusin mas may pakinabang pa sa kanya ung mga OFW kesa sa kanya eh. At hello di lang sya ang nakaka-afford ng mga LV at Jo Malone na yan. Can afford din sila kaya lang mas uunahin muna nila ang pamilya nila kesa sa luho.
Now what's with the "B"... hhhhmmm Baboy, Balyena, Bitch, Beast ... hehehe...
~~~~~oOo~~~~~~

By the way, I applied for an instruction permit for driving this morning.. too bad I failed. So try ulit ako next week or by Thursday to get another one. Its free naman eh.. kaya ok lang... hehehe.
